EMBRACE THE GIFT OF TODAY

By Bishop Mesrop Parsamyan

We often mark our calendars with days we think are the most significant: our birthdays, New Year’s Day, the first day of school, graduation day, the day we get engaged, our wedding, or the birth of our first child. Maybe for you, it’s the day you win a tournament or make a groundbreaking discovery.

God has orchestrated these monumental days with His providence, especially for us. But let me tell you, every day given by God is a blessing, even the most challenging ones. The psalmist reminds us, “This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalm 118:24).

The enemy wants to distract you, whispering in your ear to focus on “Yesterday” or “Tomorrow.” He wants you to get stuck in the past, lost in nostalgia, or anxious about an uncertain future. But God says, “Today! I created this day for you to find joy in My presence.” Yesterday is gone, laid to rest in the tomb of time. Dwelling on it means wasting today and robbing tomorrow. And living for tomorrow, filled with worry and anxiety, makes you miss out on the blessings God has for you right now.

Our Lord Jesus Christ reminds us in Matthew 6:25-34, “Therefore I tell you… do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own. Today’s trouble is enough for today.” He is calling us to live in the moment, to cherish the gift of today.

Imagine what your life would look like if you truly embraced each day as a gift from God. How would your outlook change if you focused on the blessings of today rather than the regrets of yesterday or the worries of tomorrow?

So, let us make a conscious decision to live in the present, to thank God for each moment, and to trust Him with our past and our future. When we do this, we open our hearts to the fullness of His joy, peace, and love. Let’s live each day with gratitude, knowing that our Heavenly Father has planned it with love and care.
