BELIEVE AGAIN

Children and Christmas just seem to go together, don’t they? There’s something about their wonder, their excitement, the way their eyes light up, that reminds us what faith is supposed to feel like. Jesus once said, “Whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will never enter it” (Mark 10:15). He wasn’t talking about age. He was talking about attitude.

Children don’t analyze God; they just trust Him. They don’t worry if the plan looks uncertain; they hold on to the promise. They don’t stand back with arms crossed waiting for proof—no, they run forward believing the best. When a child asks, they expect to receive. When they pray, they believe God hears. When they dream, they imagine without limits.

But as we grow older, life tries to drain that Christmas wonder out of us. We gather disappointments the way snow gathers along a fence line. We save memories of prayers that didn’t seem to be answered. We learn to guard our hearts. We say, “I’ll believe it when I see it.” We start thinking like the world rather than trusting like a child of God.

But Christmas has a way of waking up the child within us again. The music, the candles, the manger scene, the laughter of children running down the church aisles, the joy of families gathering… it whispers to our spirit, “Remember who you were.”

Friends, God is calling you back to childlikeness. To wonder again. To hope again. To look at your future with expectation instead of fear. To believe that your Father in heaven is good, that He knows how to give good gifts, and that He has things in store for you greater than anything you’ve imagined.

So this Christmas, stand before the manger the way a child stands before a Christmas tree: eyes wide, heart open, expecting something good. There are gifts from Him you have not yet unwrapped; peace waiting to be received, direction waiting to unfold, dreams waiting to come alive.

May this season awaken the child within you: the part that trusts, that wonders, that believes. And as you do, may you see that God has been waiting to bless you, not with less than you expect, but with more than you could ever imagine.
