DO YOU BELIEVE THIS?

By Bishop Mesrop Parsamyan

Today is Lazarus Saturday, a powerful day in our church calendar that reminds us of one of the greatest miracles in Scripture. A day when Jesus didn’t just speak about life, but He proved He had the power to bring it. He called Lazarus who had been dead four days out of a tomb, and that man walked out fully alive.

But before that miracle ever happened, something else had to take place. Jesus looked at Martha, Lazarus’ sister, and said these words: “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.” Then He asked her a question: “Do you believe this?” (John 11:25).

Martha could have said, “Lord, it’s too late. He’s been dead too long. It’s over.” She could have focused on what she saw with her eyes, what she felt in her heart.
But instead, she gave a response that moved heaven: “Yes, Lord. I believe.” And that declaration of faith opened the door to resurrection.

Friends, there are some things in your life that may look dead. A relationship. A dream. Your joy. Your purpose. You may feel like hope has been buried behind a stone.
But Jesus is standing right there, just like He did with Martha, and He’s asking you the same question: “Do you believe this?”

Don’t let your current circumstances talk you out of your miracle. Don’t let the tomb convince you that it’s too late. Don’t let what’s been buried convince you that it can’t be raised again. Can you look at the pain, look at the loss, look at the struggle—and still say, “Yes, Lord. I believe.”

Because when you do, like Martha, you’re giving heaven permission to breathe life into what you thought was lost. You’re unlocking miracles you haven’t seen yet. You’re setting resurrection power in motion in your life.

He is still the Resurrection and the Life. That wasn’t just for Lazarus. That wasn’t just for back then. That’s for you right now. In the middle of your pain, your confusion, your loneliness. Jesus is still asking, “Do you believe?”
