FLOURISH LIKE THE PALM TREE

By Bishop Mesrop Parsamyan

One of the most beautiful promises in the Scriptures is in Psalm 92:12: “The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree.” Palm trees are strong and resilient, standing tall no matter what comes their way. The palm tree has a unique ability: it can bend, but it doesn’t break. When the storms come, the winds may howl, and the palm may sway, but when the storm passes, that tree stands back up, tall and strong, as if nothing ever happened.

There are times in life when the winds blow hard against us—winds of disappointment, winds of struggle, winds of change. And we feel like we’re bending under the pressure. We feel the weight of what we’re going through, and it’s pulling us down. But if we’re rooted in God, if our trust is in Him, we’re not going to break, were going to bounce back to stand tall again.

God never promised that we wouldn’t face storms, but He did promise that we would come out stronger, standing taller than before. In fact, it’s been said that the roots of a palm tree grow deeper after the storm. It means that the very thing the enemy meant to break you, God is going to use to make you stronger. The challenges that tried to push you down are going to be the very things that help you rise higher, grow deeper, and flourish in ways you never thought possible.

The key is to stay planted. Psalm 92:13 goes on to say that “those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God.” When you stay connected to God, when you stay faithful, you’re going to flourish. It doesn’t matter what the circumstances look like. God’s promise is still true. The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree.

So, when the storm comes, don’t be afraid. Don’t focus on the wind, the rain, or the waves. Focus on the promise. Remember, you’re like that palm tree. Rooted in God, you may bend, but you won’t break. And when the storm passes, you’ll rise up, flourishing in the courts of our God. Stay planted in His house, and watch how He will cause you to flourish beyond anything you could imagine!
