GOD’S DESIGN

By Bishop Mesrop Parsamyan

I recently read a story about Henry Ford, the founder of the Ford Motor Company. One day, he was driving to work through the countryside in Michigan. He noticed a frustrated man by the roadside, peering under the hood of his Model T Ford. The car had broken down, and the man was struggling to figure out what had gone wrong.

Henry Ford pulls over and offers to help. He bends over the engine, takes a look, and within a few seconds, he makes a small adjustment. Suddenly, the engine roars to life, much to the owner’s amazement. The man exclaims, “I’m amazed at your ability; you fixed my car so easily.” And Henry Ford, with a chuckle, responds, “I ought to be able to fix it; I’m the one who designed it.”

He knew that car because he had created it. He knew every wire, every nut, every bolt; nothing about it was hidden from him. Just like Henry Ford knew his creation, God knows us even more profoundly. He is our Designer, our Maker. The Bible tells us that we are wonderfully made by Him, designed with a purpose and a plan (Psalm 139:13-14).

Sometimes, just like that old Model T, we find ourselves broken down on the side of the road. Maybe it’s the stress of life, a personal failure, or a heartbreak that has caused our spirits to stall. We try everything we can to fix it ourselves, but just like the man in the story, our efforts are often in vain.

But here’s the good news: God, our Creator, knows precisely what is wrong and how to fix it. It’s a simple thing for Him to make the necessary adjustments. However, the key is that we need to allow Him to look under our hoods. We need to open up our hearts and invite Him in to repair and restore.

So today, let us remember this: no matter what breakdowns we face, God is always ready to help. All we need to do is call on Him, trust in His expertise, and let Him do the fixing. Because, after all, He’s the one who designed us. He knows exactly what we need.
