ST. JOHN CELEBRATES STEWARDSHIP SUNDAY WITH REFLECTION, FELLOWSHIP, AND HOLIDAY CHEER
Sunday, December 14, 2025
Milwaukee, WI – On Sunday, December 14, 2025, the parishioners of St. John Armenian Church of Metro Milwaukee came together for a meaningful and joy-filled Stewardship Sunday, a day marked by prayer, reflection, and fellowship.
Following the Divine Liturgy, the gathering took a thoughtful turn as Gary Seabrook, the church’s treasurer, led a presentation on the financial health and stewardship of the parish. His talk provided the congregation with valuable insights into the vital role of stewardship in the life of the Church.
DeAnn Kokott then shared a heartfelt personal testimony, offering her own reflection on the significance of giving and commitment in the life of the parish. Her words deeply resonated with those present, emphasizing how acts of stewardship can strengthen one’s spiritual connection with the Church and the greater community.
The event was further enriched by a pastoral reflection on stewardship delivered by the parish’s pastor, Fr. Guregh Hambardzumyan. Fr. Hambardzumyan invited the faithful to see stewardship as a spiritual calling, underscoring the themes of gratitude, faithfulness, and trust in God’s provision. His message encouraged parishioners to cultivate a deeper sense of generosity, not only in material gifts but in their devotion to one another and the life of the Church.
Despite the bitterly cold temperatures outside, with the mercury dipping to below zero, the atmosphere inside the church’s cultural hall was warm and welcoming. The room was filled with heartfelt conversation, reflection, and a palpable sense of community.
The day’s celebrations culminated in a delightful and festive visit from Santa Claus, much to the joy of the parish’s children and families. The Sunday School children were greeted with wide smiles and laughter as they met Santa, shared holiday wishes, and received gifts. This joyful moment brought the spirit of Christmas alive, reminding everyone that stewardship also encompasses nurturing the next generation and spreading joy throughout the community.
As the event came to a close, parishioners departed with full hearts, grateful for the opportunity to gather in faith, reflect on their shared responsibilities, and celebrate the season together. Stewardship Sunday at St. John Armenian Church of Milwaukee was a poignant reminder that, despite the harsh winter weather outside, the warmth of faith, generosity, and community continues to sustain and strengthen the parish throughout the year.
