THE MELODY WITHIN

By Bishop Mesrop Parsamyan

I remember vividly the first time I heard Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata. I was just a teenager, not knowing much about classical music. But when those notes filled the room, it was like they reached into the deepest part of my heart. I was captivated, and in that moment, I made a decision: I was going to learn to play that piece on the piano.

Here’s the thing—I had never touched a piano before. Not a single lesson, not a clue where to start. But something about that melody stirred my soul, and I couldn’t let it go. I got the music score and went to work. Day by day, I figured it out. I struggled to read the notes. My fingers stumbled over the keys. But six months later, after countless hours of practice, I could play the Moonlight Sonata by heart.

Friends, God places a melody in every single one of us. It’s that dream, that calling, that purpose that stirs your spirit. You might feel it’s out of reach. Maybe you think, “I don’t have the skills. I’ve never done this before. I don’t even know where to start.”

But remember, when God gives you a dream, He also gives you the ability to make it happen. He promises us in Psalm 32:8: “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.” God doesn’t just call you and leave you on your own. He’s watching over you, guiding you step by step.

It won’t always be easy. Like learning to play the piano, it takes time, effort, and perseverance. You might stumble along the way, and you might have moments where you feel like giving up. But God is faithful. If you keep at it, day by day, you’ll find that the melody He’s placed in you will start to flow.

So, whatever that dream is, whatever that purpose God has placed in you, don’t let fear, inexperience, or doubt hold you back. The same God who called you to it will guide you through it. He’s already written the music. Your job is to learn it, step by step, and live out the melody God placed in your soul for His glory.
