VOICES THAT MOVE HEAVAN

Since my seminary years, I’ve always loved singing in the choir. Even when I studied in Strasbourg, where there was no Armenian church nearby, I joined the local university choir. And every time I have the chance, I still sing. Last summer at camp, I jumped right in with our campers and sang along. There’s something mystical, something beautiful about singing in a choir.

Think about it, in a choir, some voices are strong and soaring, some soft and gentle, some perfectly on pitch, and yes, some a little off-key! But when you put them all together, something powerful happens. A single voice is nice; a choir can shake the room. That’s a picture of the Church: unity in diversity.

St. Paul says, “The body is made up of many parts… though the parts are different, they form one body” (1 Corinthians 12). God didn’t design us to all sing the same note or look the same way. He delights in variety. He gave you your unique tone, your personality, your gifts. And when we bring all those differences together in harmony, heaven hears a sound that glorifies Him. That’s the choir of God’s people.

Some of you have been holding back your voice. You think, “I’m not as talented… my voice is too small… I don’t have much to offer.” Listen, God’s choir isn’t about perfection; it’s about participation. He’s not asking you to be flawless; He’s asking you to show up. Your “yes” fills the room. Your love adds warmth. Your faith adds strength.

Don’t compare your voice to someone else’s. Don’t sit quietly thinking you’re not needed. When you serve where you are, when you love in the way only you can love, when you add your note to the song of God’s people, the song becomes complete.

When the Church sings together — when each of us steps up, unafraid to be heard — something extraordinary happens. We become a living harmony of grace, a testimony to the world that Jesus Christ is alive. The hurting hear hope. The lost hear love.

So sing your part now. Love boldly. Serve joyfully. Worship fully. Heaven is listening. The Father is smiling. And together, we can fill this earth with the music of His glory.

“Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!” (Psalm 150:6).
